Jesuoneh Garuba is an associate attorney at Holloway & Stires, P.C, supporting the firm’s workers’ compensation defense practice. Licensed in both California and Nigeria, he brings a diverse litigation background spanning government service, municipal practice, and private law. He previously served as a litigation attorney with Nigeria’s Department of Justice, where he handled civil and criminal matters, drafted pleadings and motions, conducted statutory analysis, and assisted in trial preparation and courtroom advocacy, with a strong focus on evidentiary and procedural compliance.
Mr. Garuba also gained experience in U.S. municipal and regulatory practice through his work with the City of Chicago Law Department, assisting with litigation support, regulatory compliance review, and complex case management. Earlier in his career, he worked in private practice as a legal assistant, supporting filings, client communications, and trial preparation. In addition to his law license, he holds a paralegal certificate, strengthening his skills in legal research, drafting, and procedural efficiency. He is actively developing expertise in California workers’ compensation defense, supporting discovery, depositions, and proceedings before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board.
