Reb has been practicing law in the Portland area for more than 40 years. His practice focuses on workers’ compensation defense and he is widely recognized as one of the nation’s most experienced lawyers in matters relating to the Longshore and Harbor Workers’
Compensation Act and its several extensions. He has first-hand experience with nearly every issue that can arise, a strong record of effective settlement efforts, and – when settlement cannot be reached – many appearances before every Administrative Law Judge assigned to the San Francisco office. He is also an experienced appellate advocate, presenting briefing and arguments before the Benefits Review Board, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and, on two occasions, the United States Supreme Court.
In addition to defending his clients, he has been a key participant in legislative efforts to amend the LHWCA and the subsequent regulatory processes. His skills and reputation have resulted in his choice as agreed mediator in cases from Seattle to San Diego and as a featured speaker at more than 50 regional and national conferences.
